Kaley's Cucina

Kaley's Lasagna Party. 15 girls making their own Lasagne's. Thank goodness we had lots of hands to help. Another party, which couldn't be done w/out Mom, Dad and Michael. Thanks for all your help.

These aren't going to be in order and there are too many to try to move them around....so bear with me while I explain!

In Lieu of gifts, it was requested that Kaley's friends adopt a Giraffe from the zoo in her name. She also was given a Giraffe Webkinz, which she named Sheila.

Kaley w/ Chloe, a 5th grader from school, who came to help at the party.

wooden spoon dolls the girls made as a craft- they turned out really cute.

the Silly Chefs!

The boys next door were spying on the girls during lunch. You can see that this created all kinds of chaos.

Make a wish Kaley!

Observatory

Also on the list of places to visit and things to do...was go back to the observatory. We took the tour this time and found it to be very fascinating. They offer Stargazing at Stonelick Lake, which will be fun to attend some Saturday evening. Sounds like people set up their telescopes, everyone Grills Out (BBQ's) and watches the stars.

Zoo

We had a list of things to do with Poppi and Nana. On the list was to go to the zoo. Our zoo is such a beautiful place and we go there often....

For Ainsley's birthday, she asked that her friends help her to adopt one of our new manatees. Here she is with C.C.

For Kaley's bd, she asked that her friends help her adopt a giraffe. Here is Kaley with "her" giraffe. Mom was quick with the camera and snapped this picture. I don't think we could've planned it any better.

What is it.... Nana and Poppi?

Mom and Dad brought a little something for the girls. A Singer Featherweight sewing machine....just like the one on which I learned to sew some 34 years ago. The machine is from 1952 and mom found it at an estate sale. The girls were thrilled to have their own machine!

Glenwood Gardens

Spending the
day in the sun on Easter Sunday at Glenwood Gardens.

Easter Sunday

The girls were most excited about being able to sing Alleluia again in Mass. We came home after church, had a little brunch and enjoyed going out to Glenwood Gardens for a workshop on bunnies. The Gardens have quickly become a favorite place for us and it was nice being able to share it with Michael on a lovely day

Easter Egg Hunting

We attended the Easter Egg Hunt in Blue Ash on Saturday. It was really windy and became chilly. Kaley decided to opt out- Ainlsey had fun and shared her treasures w/Kaley. I noticed a couple of older girls who had taken interest in watching Kaley. Once the egg hunt was over, they approached her and gave her an egg. Turns out it was a lucky egg and Kaley ended up with a bunny.

Praying the steps

We have heard about all the people who make it a tradition to "pray the steps" at Holy Cross-Immaculata Church in Mt. Adams on Good Friday. This is a tradition which has been taking place for the last 150 years. We were off from school on Good Friday and thought we'd join in....well, we got there around 11:00, found a parking spot right off (which we thought was a good sign), walked around the corner and saw the line of people. We waited in line untl 1:30 and had only moved about 50 yards. It was very hot and the girls had consumed all their water. It was time to go- We'll try again next year...going much much earlier.

The Hillavator which sits at Hill Street in Mt. Adams. Mt. Adams is one of 5 Mountains, which Cincinnati sits....these Funiculars helped people get their groceries from the street level to the top of hill, which their residence was located. The girls wanted to ride it, but I was a bit leary. Maybe next time....
