so close and yet...

We are so close and yet still have a ways to go. Here is how the yard is shaping up so far:
We purchased most all of our plants from the Todos Santos Farmers Market, of all places. There is a grower from Stockton and he brought 30 plants for us. We borrowed Brian and Melissa's truck, Michael took the day off and we planted. Thank you Brian and Melissa. Thank you Marybeth for watching the girls while we picked up the plants early in the morning. We have a few more "finishing touches and then I 'll get more photos up of the "finished product". Ahh, to think "finished product"...

Kaley had a great time playing with Chloe on Tuesday while we planted. When we returned to pick the girls up, Kaley did not want to come home....so she stayed and stayed and stayed. It is very sweet to see Kaley form relationships with Melody and Chloe. They play very well together.

Michael and Ainsley took Erik to the bart station tonight. The girls love looking at the moon and stars. Being as it was a full moon last night, Michael took Ainsley to the top of the bart station to see it in all it's glory. Was it anywhere to be found???? NO!! Where was that moon hiding? Instead, they saw the lights of the Concord airport. They also found out that there are numbers on the roof of each bart train (they were looking down on it- this gives me the heebee geebees just thinking about Ainsley and heights).

Today, we finished glazing our clay sculptures. It was our last class. We now have an elephant, kitty, heart, ladybug, butterfly, two birds, and turtle to represent our Clay class at Civic Arts. Ballet is over next week. Things are so comfortable at Civic Arts- we ran into many friends.

Tomorrow, we are taking the girls to see Circus Chimera. It is also Zephyrs birthday. In the morning, I am taking the girls to the new she she Orinda library. The bottom floor houses a cafe with the library above. There is also a beautiful fountain on location. Next door is a park. Another full day for the Worthley girls.

I am sure I'll have lots to write about following the circus.

Blue Porsche for Poppi

We took the girls to see Cars a couple of weeks back. It really made an impact on the girls. Ainsley puts on her red t-shirt from our Tuffo Family Reunion (Thank you Aunt Jane) and plays Lightning McQueen....although, she calls it Lightning The Queen. Kaley plays Sally. Here she is coloring a picture for her Poppi. A blue Porsche. I need to figure out why my photos don't post upright.

Music to my ears

The other day at Ainsleys "Ready, Set, Go...Kindergarten" class, she was studying musical instruments. Part of the structure for the day includes drawing a picture about what they are studying. Ainsley came home to tell me that she drew a picture of herself playing daddy's guitar. This took me a bit by surprise as daily Ainsley tinks around on the piano. When she is upset, she plays low notes in a more aggressive way and when she is composing.....who knows what she will come up with. It surprised me that she drew a picture of herself with the guitar. When I asked her about the guitar over the piano..she responded "oh, I forgot I had a piano" Now mind you, she hasn't seen or touched daddys guitar in probably 3 years. I hope she will always have a great memory. The girls were pretty persistant about having Michael show them his guitar. They had a wonderful evening with daddy.

Sisters

Every so often, we capture Ainsley and Kaley with their heads together. These photos started when Kaley was just a few days old and Kaley is being held up to her big sister. It almost looks like Kaley is giving Ainsley a lick on the cheek and Ainsleys expression is of pure delight. There have been many other "sister" photos over the past 3 years where the girls are thrilled to be with one another. I took this one a couple of days ago. It shows how their friendship is really evolving. I hope they will grow to be good friends. Kaley adores her big sis and Ainsley shines from Kaleys adoration.

up up and away

We went to the kite festival in Berkeley last Sunday with the Rapelas and Wakefields. Oh, to be a kite...carefree, blowing in the wind.

Big and little Princesses

Our friends and neighbors, the Rapela's, came by today. Ainsley is delighted as Melody shares her passion for dress-up. Kaley likes playing dress up in the costumes her Nana made for her third birthday, but prefers to dress up on her own.
