Spelling Bee- Sequoia

Another one of Sequoia's fundraisers is the annual spelling bee. Ainsley spelled all 23 words correctly.

March 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th. A welcome surprise.

Dad and mom gave me a really good gift this year for my birthday....themselves. Michael was due back from LA on the 21st and as the girls and I were frantically cleaning the house for his arrival, there was knock on the door. Upon opening the door, I found a casserole waiting on the doorstep. I peeked around the corner and there was mom with dad walking down the sidewalk. What a great birthday present. I was ever so shocked! In the casserole....holupsies (sp???)...cabbage rolls wrapped with rice and ham. A specialty mom makes, which are really time intensive. Needless to say, I don't make them. How cool...mom and dad show up WITH dinner. Soon after their arrival, Michael pulled in. Now things were falling right into place. The next day-my birthday, Michael treated me to a massage, flowers, dinner and a very nice dessert made of carats- something a girl can never have enough of. I helped set up for Sequoia's book faire the following day. Kaley would not go near Clifford, but Melody and Ainsley liked him...especially Melody.

March 20th, Riding the bus with Anthony

The other day coming home from school, we passed a County Connection bus and Kaley commented that one day she wanted to ride the bus to school. After a few phone calls, I found out that the bus doesn't go straight down Oak Grove, like one would think...turns out that our less than 2 mile trip to school would've take almost 1 1/2 hours because of the route. We found out that we could park at a park and ride near ARF on Mitchell and take the bus down Mitchell to Oak Grove, down Oak Grove to Shadelands, down Shadelands to Wiget and the then the bus dropped us off by Civic Arts. The following day, we made a quick call to Lina, Anthony and Elena to see if they were up for joining us on our adventure. Sure enough...they were, so on Thursday, we boarded the bus...and off to school we went.
