April Fools for Daddy

The girls would eat pizza 24/7, if they were allowed. For April 1st, we called daddy to find out when he'd be home and told him that pizza was on its' way. However, we brought home a pizza box from school and instead slipped in our Pesto chicken over tortellini as a joke. He got home, expecting pizza and was found this waiting for him instead.

Ready, Set, Go Peep Racers, Go!

For the girls birthday celebrations at school...we went all out and make Peeps racers. Ainsley's bunny was Green and Kaley's, pink. The kids loved them- not so sure about the teachers. Birthday's come only once a year...right???? All in all, we ended up making 70 of these little racers. Happy Birthday A and K.

The other day, Kaley point blank asked me "mom, when are you going back to work"? I responded with "did daddy put you up to this"? Then as we continued to talk, Kaley told me that her best friend, Sophia is sososososooo lucky because she gets to go to All About Kids (Daycare) and to get to AAK from school, she rides the AAK bus. So, I made a call and arranged for Kaley to go with Sophia to AAK one day after school. She had a blast. The best part..riding the bus w/Sophia.

Friday Fish Frys have come to an end, but not without daddy cooking at one. He and some of the other 3rd grade dads cooked up the dinner. Our daddy was Fry Daddy and in charge of cooking up some yummy sweet potato fries. See, there is no need to break out the deep fryer we rec'd as a wedding present when you can fry on the "real deal".

Nest in the door

So a few weeks ago, I noticed two birds who were flying into and out of our front door area. So, the other day, I went to take a look- and didn't notice anything. Then, today...it appears that they have taken up building a nest in our front door wreath. Guess that is what I get for leaving the Christmas wreath up for so long. Now, there are 5 eggs and the mommy doesn't leave the nest. We've put up some paper on our door window so that she doesn't get frightened and fly away each time we pass by. We can still peek on her, without startling her...and I could never be a mommy bird- for days on end, she just sits there on those eggs. I wouldn't have the patience for that. The guys at the bird store think they are wrens, but they don't look like the wrens we are finding on the internet. We might see baby birds in 12-14 days (providing they are wrens). Stay tuned-

Track- Let the fun begin!

So, Kaley's meet is from 8-11:30 and Ainsley's is from 11:30-2:30...and considering they run late- well, our Saturday's are now going to be spent at a track. We are going to miss a couple because of Kaley's party as well as May Crowning, so we really only have just a few meets to go to . I arrived at Kaley's meet when it was close to being over as the night before, Ainsley went to a Brownie Sleepover and while we did not spend the night, it was still close to 10 pm when she fell asleep. Needless to say, she was tired on Saturday. Michael took Kaley and Ainlsey and I joined up with them. I will get more photos of Kaley this week.

Stations of the Cross- 3rd's turn

Last Friday was 3rd Grades turn at holding Stations of the Cross. Ainlsey read the "14th Station". She was in her element- dressing up and speaking in front of a large crowd- Two of her favorite things!

Bus trip to see Jigsaw Jones

The 1st-3rd graders traveled to the Aronoff to see a production of Jigsaw Jones. It had a good message about being comfortable with who you are and not trying to gain friends by being someone, you're not.

We Won!!

We had our last VBall Tourney for the season last Friday. We won our first game on Friday, played Saturday and won and returned Sunday for the Championships...and WON- now, onto Track.

Cotswold Park/Highfield Discovery Garden

Ainlsey's Brownie Troop went to Cotswold Park, where through the Highfield Discovery Garden, they learned about Maple Sugaring. We all learned a lot about how Maple Syrup is collected, boiled and bottled for consumption. It was fascinating! When the tree is tapped and the sap starts to run, the sap is clear...looks just like water and is the same consistency, too. It is mostly water, so when it is boiled...it takes a lot (I've forgotten just how much- but A Lot!!) just to make a small container like McDonalds serves with its' pancakes. New appreciation for the taste and price of real Maple Syrup.
